In Illinois, litigation and in-person trials varies from County to County.  In Will and Dupage Counties, the Courts seem to be mostly open.  Thankfully, status appearances are handled by Zoom which has made the practice more efficient. The vast majority of Cook County Courtrooms remain closed to in person events but some Judges are open for business.  I recently defended a excavation contractor in the law division and had a great experience with an in person trial.  The practice of law has changed since Covid. f
